About
Digital Designer. Graphic Artist. Web Developer. Brian D. Smith
I would say I've always been a natural artist, but it wasn't until my first year of high school when my first computer opened my eyes to the digital medium. That was the turning point which led me to what I do today. I eventually went on to graduate in September 2007 from The Art Institute of Dallas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interactive Media Design. While that major had an emphasis on information architecture, web design, and interface usability, I would say my skills have grown to be more multi-disciplinary than solely about interactive media design.
I'm also quite an active hobbyist. I like to say that with me there is hardly ever an idle moment in my life. I'm constantly practicing and preaching what I love, and stay involved in a number of projects including depthCORE, an international digital art and design group that I currently administer alongside Justin Maller and Kevin Stacey whom founded the group. Among other things I'm a frequent visitor of museums and a hyper-processor of art, architecture, and photography and a regurgitator of my own experiences and state of mind.
